Chrysteen Braun: I started working for my parents, Nick and Mary Patridis, who owned Nick Patridis Painting, and Damis Construction, primarily as Insurance Restoration Contractors. My parents joked that by giving her a job,” they kept me off the street and out of trouble.” It did both. And it helped develop my passion for homes. In 1970, the family started Aegean Floor Coverings, primarily to do the flooring for all their construction jobs, and this is where I really buckled down and learned a lot the hard way. Sometimes, I think that’s how one learns the best. In 1995, having become a separate entity from the family business, with her parents blessings and encouragement, Aegean added Designing Whims, which has truly become a full service Interior Design Showroom, specializing not only in Design, but also Flooring, Kitchen & Bath Design and Remodeling, and Window Coverings. In 2008, Aegean became the only KrartMaid Kitchen Cabinetry Showroom in the area, and in 2010, the only Hunter Douglas Centurian Gallery in West Orange County. And that’s how the name Aegean Designing Whims started.
